MARKET UPDATE WITH MARK SUTHERLAND
MARKET UPDATE WITH MARK SUTHERLAND

With the recent lockdown in Melbourne, I’m sure many of you are wondering how and if it’s affected the local property market. Last weekend saw the first real exposure to post lockdown activity outside of the long weekend and we’re pleased to report the overall attendees across all price points and developments continued to be strong.

Our stand out sale for the month was completed by Cary Thornton in the stunning “Collins house” development located at 466 Collins street on level 54 boasting breathtaking views across the city and port Phillip bay. A spacious 3 bedroom property soon to be occupied by a very happy customer.

Lynn Lum and Serena Su have been hard at work both having sold a property “off-market” at 801 Bourke Street & 888 Collins street via our exclusive buyer database network to well qualified registered buyers.

Kong Tran sold not one but two PM residences in Port Melbourne, which continues to be popular with multiples offers at $560,000 and $720,000 respectively.

Tom Tregonning sold a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment in the Nolan building located in New Quay after just one open for inspection, well above the owner's expectations.

First home buyers and owner-occupiers, in particular, continue to dominate the apartment market and naturally want to take advantage of the Stamp Duty savings before June 30 cut-off.

A message to buyers; it is very important to have spoken to your chosen financial institution and have that all-important pre-approval ready in order to put yourself in the strongest possible position when you do find that dream home.

Based on the amount of pre-registered buyers we have already for this upcoming Saturday, we anticipate the last week of the financial year to finish on a high!

And finally, it’s so incredibly important for us all to support local businesses both retail and hospitality, we have some of the best cafes and restaurants, hidden gems and views of the city! But for them to survive we all need to do our bit and with the Melbourne city rebate of 20%, treat yourself to a breakfast/lunch/dinner or work event, social gathering and enjoy the discounts while they last.
