Last Wednesday, Lucas Real Estate proudly attended and wholeheartedly supported "Australia's Biggest Morning Tea," a remarkable event graciously hosted by Steve, Jerry, John, their partners, and the incredible team at Berth restaurant. Nestled in the scenic waterfront of Docklands, the venue provided a stunning backdrop for this meaningful occasion.

As a firm believer in the Cancer Council's crucial mission, I had the distinct honour of conducting the auction for this very event back in 2019. Unfortunately, the advent of the pandemic put a temporary halt to our efforts. However, it was truly exhilarating to witness the upstairs function room brimming with enthusiastic individuals once again, united in their commitment to raising funds for this vital cause and supporting the Cancer Council.

This year's morning tea marked a monumental milestone, commemorating 25 years of celebration and fundraising. To contribute to this worthy cause, the Lucas team graciously donated a table, and our very own Baden Lucas took the reins as the charismatic MC for the event, while I had the privilege of conducting the auction. Each item up for bid sparked spirited competition, generating laughter and, most importantly, raising funds.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the generous donors who contributed an array of remarkable items. From signed AFL football jumpers and magnums of exquisite wine to home appliances, boat cruises, vouchers for Berth and Cargo, and unforgettable weekends in Quest accommodations—the support was truly remarkable.

Together, we managed to achieve an extraordinary feat, surpassing all expectations by raising a new record-breaking amount of over $25,000. The success of the day was nothing short of awe-inspiring, leaving us eagerly anticipating the opportunity to participate in this exceptional event once again next year.
