Run for the Kids is back! One of the great local events in Docklands that is aimed at fundraising for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. This year, the entire team at Lucas Real Estate is incredibly proud to be taking part with a team of runners set to complete the course. With the 5.2km course including The Bolte Bridge and some of Docklands key locations, anyone can join and help support the Good Friday Appeal.

Personally, I’ve never been much of an athlete and certainly not a fast runner. However, I’ve implemented a schedule that has seen me drop 9kg in two months thanks to five days of weight work and four additional cardio sessions per week. For anyone new to running, personally, I started by running for 30 seconds and walking for 90 and then 60 seconds even split. To run a full set distance is never easy, but it's achievable no matter how slowly. The results are life-changing.

We will be joined by tens of thousands of people who participate in the annual event with millions of dollars being raised each year. In addition, for the more experienced runners, there is a longer 15kms run along the West Gate Freeway, heading over the Bolte Bridge, along the Yarra and around the Botanic Gardens.

Docklands will transform to include recovery zones, a main stage with live entertainment, prize giveaways, kids activities and food outlets. Whether you're planning to run or just head down to the live site, this is a fantastic event to support the Royal Children’s Hospital and the young patients they treat.
