狗年大吉 | Happy Chinese New Year!
This week we farewell the Year of the Rooster as we welcome in a New Lunar Year – the Year of the Dog.
An age-old tradition, The Lunar or Chinese New Year is always a time of great joy and excitement, and enormous goodwill. The dog, a symbol of intelligence, loyalty and compassion in the Chinese zodiac, will evoke sentiments of love, courage and solidarity in 2018.
Traditionally, Chinese families gather to exchange gifts over feasts, while the streets are filled with firecrackers, drums and dragons. Over the next 10 days, Melbourne will come alive to celebrate the Year of the Dog - with the fun, food and festivities of the new year celebrated throughout our city. Enjoy Melbourne’s wonderful multicultural history and join in the celebrations and cultural delights from 15 - 25 February.
